Great company to deal with

Easy to use website. Fast responding helpful customer service. Great product and good value. People seem to have a downer on them because of their most high profile owner. However, I want to support British companies and the employment of British people above any personality preferences.Hope they pull through to the other side of all this.

Changed flight to three days after booking. i have no way to extend my accommodation and the new flight date is impossible for me. but to be fair they've behaved themselves and given a full refund.

First time experience on Upper Class

Flew return Upper Class from London to Johannesburg in late February this year and was very impressed. Usually Fly BA Club World on this route for work but wanted to try something different. Choice between Virgin or SAA. Easy decision. Must say the Virgin experience is unique and very different to the BA CW. I enjoyed the experience, from booking, online check-in to the impressive Lounge and chauffeur car service that picked me up from my doorstep and took me straight to the Virgin Lounge. The new Upper Class rolling out this year promises to be an event better experience. Looking forward to it. Have not given it 5 starts as not at the same level as Qatar Q-Suite, Emirates, Singapore etc. Different league but still excellent.

When I want to fly in luxury or just in…

When I want to fly in luxury or just in a generally better plane I go with Virgin.Costs a little more but for long-haul it is worth it.Premium economy is worth the extra money unlike BA and everything is as you expect unlike BA.As per usual they sting you on reserving seats but I haven't located a decent airways that doesn't.

Virgin Atlantic to the rescue.

I booked a flight with 'Bravofly' for my Virgin Atlantic Flight from MAN to BOM and received an email from Bravofly to say that the flight was preponed to 3 days earlier which meant I was in transit for 2 nights!!! I called Bravofly and tried to make the change but they were most unhelpful. After multiple calls and emails out of desperation I called Virgin Atlantic for advice. Although, technically, Virgin Atlantic could not make the date change on behalf of Bravofly, after I told them what an experience I had, the customer rep. I spoke to Reece, calmly and confidentially told me to leave it with him and he would see what he could do. After being on hold for a couple of minutes, Reece made the change for me. It was like a dark cloud had been lifted!Reece, as I said, you are a lifesaver! I do hope this message gets to you and to your supervisors who can see what an asset to the company you are.

Wonderful cabin crew, no fee changes

I booked flights (for a family of 4) in April 2021 as a one way from Miami to Heathrow. I then had to cancel the first part of my trip so needed to get from Heathrow to Miami. I searched frantically for last minute one way tickets and they were SO expensive. I called Virgin and was told I couldn't change my ticket to a round trip like I had hoped. The lady on the phone was not very friendly. She didn't seem to like her job to be honest. You could hear kids in the background and it sounded like she was preoccupied. So I called back the next day. Low and behold I got a person on the phone with more knowledge and was able to change my flight to a roundtrip. Yes it cost a lot of money but was cheaper than trying to buy a one way with another airline (unless I wanted to fly via a budget Portugese airline and have a 14 hour layover in Lisbon, nope! Not with two kids and in a pandemic). We then needed to change my husbands flight to a travel voucher as we were not sure if he was going to make the trip. No trouble. He was able to join us in Florida 10 days after we left and was able to rebook with 2 days notice (no additional cost). The only downside is the one hour wait to get a person on the phone of course. That needs work. Not everything can be done online or via their What's App chat. I then changed our return date as well! No fees. Brilliant. The flights were both great, decent food, and wonderful cabin crew. They are really the best! A chap named Neo really made our trip back to the UK more comfortable and nothing was too much trouble. Virgin Airlines really came through for us this year... thank you.

Mr Weiss, VA Managment, This isn't rocket science

My family and I have travelled Virgin Atlantic economy on numerous occasions in the past 20 years, I’ve always been pleasantly surprised with their overall attention to detail, cabin crews efforts to make long haul experience’s with them as pleasant as possible. Virgin management and staff always gave you that bit extra to set itself apart from other airlines. From its beginnings in the mid 80’s, one person and key staff built Virgin Atlantic into a major player that attracted customers worldwide. Whilst I accept there’s been changes in the Airline Business in the last decade, and more recently the covid epidemic, it’s my opinion the driving force behind Virgin Atlantic and more importantly the key staff that made it what it was, are no longer there to keep it on track. When you factor in Virgin Atlantic, Holidays year on year losses, even prior to covid, the negative reviews on here, damage to customer loyalty, loss of repeat, and returning customers, one must ask the question, how are you getting this so wrong, on so many levels. Whilst I have to give 5 stars given my experience, these negative reviews speak for themselves, please consider the damage your doing to the Virgin brand, It’s quite simple, give your customers what they want, thats what Virgin was built on.

Changing the goal posts to suit them

So last year Virgin Atlantic pulled out of Gatwick and I checked with the travel agent (STA travel) what my options were. The pandemic was in full swing and USA banned all tourists from entering the country. I was told I could not have a refund and I had to accept Virgin vouchers which were good until Sept 2022. OK, so then STA travel went bust but Virgin assured me I still had the vouchers. I have spent months considering how I am going to use these as the options are limited now since they pulled out of Gatwick and finally I settled on Miami flights that I saw in the sale. Called up to use my vouchers and was told I had to go to the original destination from Heathrow??? and they could not offer me anything else and referred me to ATOL as they might refund me due to STA travel closing down. This does not seem right or fair, does it? Edit, I emailed Virgin Customer service a few more times and eventually got the money back in the form of a refund to my card so I changed my score to a 3/5

Really Great Travel Experience even on Economy Class

Staff were professional and courteous. I travelled in the morning for an approximately 9 hours flight. Edible lunch and tea meals were provided according to you food preferences, as well as a variety of drinks in abundance. So, there was no chance of going hungry. The same on my return journey where there was dinner and breakfast as my journey started in the evening carrying on till morning.I made use of the toilet more than once on my return journey, and it was clean and smelled fresh every time, and contained adequate toiletry products.There was easy access and availability to entertainment (touch screen), USB plug charger, blanket to cover yourself in case you get cold.A negative: I don't have long legs so some kind of foot rest would have been welcomed. Also, couldn't get internet/wireless access. I did find the seat reclining of the passenger in front of me an impediment, but thankfully there were spare seats in other parts of the plane just as comfortable, so I moved seats, and continued to enjoy my journey. And, on my return journey, I moved seats again due to flatulence expulsion from the passenger in front of me. Again, I enjoyed the rest of my journey as before.Overall, a great travel experience. I am glad I travelled with Virgin Atlantic, I would use the same airline again, and have already recommended it.
